§ Awards: received Sprint’s highest national award for making significant

volunteer, staff and membership development, fundraising and special events.
§ From 1993 to 1998 the budget grew 335%; ended each year with a net surplus
and better than budgeted.
§ 1994 fund raising goal was $5,000, 1998 goal was $40,000 (800% growth); each
year we exceeded our goal by at least 10%.
§ Developed a community membership base of nearly 1,000 members, and
supervised directly or indirectly 30 full and part time staff members.

§ Oversaw a $3 million budget.
§ Originated the Member Volunteer Program (MVP), recognized by the YMCA of
the USA as a National Program Model for Volunteer Development.
§ Established adult and youth exchanges between the Houston YMCA and the
Kyoto, Japan and Mexican YMCAs. Provided leadership for all Houston YMCA
international and volunteer development programs.
§ Increased membership base from 3,900 to 4,500 units, the highest in history.

adults. Participants travel to foreign YMCAs for the summer where they serve
